School announces grade reshuffle for efficient organization

The board plans grade realignment across East and West buildings for next year. Third graders move to the West building and fourth graders to the East, with other grades unchanged. East hosts grades one two four six seven eight. West hosts one two three five. Eighth graders missing promotion may take a summer tutoring exam at the High School on Sept 4, upon request to Miss Myers or Supt Palmer.

Carey High dairy poultry and livestock team to state fair

Grading for New Yard Gets Under Way

Auto Crash on W Findlay Street Hospitalizes Five

A Saturday 12:15 PM crash on W Findlay Street involved five occupants of a Chevrolet sedan returning from Hill Crest Gardens. Driver Alva Rosenberger failed to see a curve, traveling about 60 mph, colliding with a tree and tearing off the top. CNO Sportsmen Plant 45000 Forest Trees

Forty five thousand forest tree seedlings were planted this year on Ohio farms and municipal parks by twenty six Isaac Walton League chapters. Edmund Secrest state forester outlined the plan requiring each chapter to plant at least one acre. Reports to the publicity committee say the New York Central Lines Athletic Meet at Scott Stadium Toledo on September 18 draws wide interest. Freight car mileage on the Chesapeake and Ohio during 1925 was 779121950 and on the Hocking Valley 104557 S887, totaling 83 679 835 dollars. This marked an increase over 1921. The year saw 2 963 miles of road operated across Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana with a daily average of 41 556 cars on the C and O and 10 659 on the H V, out of a total 52 215 cars in 1925.

Pilgrimage Train Brings 1400 to Shrine Services

A special Sunday pilgrimage from Detroit brought 1400 pilgrims to the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation for Glorious Octave services. Additional pilgrims arrived by auto, with total crowd around 4000. Special masses were held and a midday procession carried the Virgin’s image through streets on priests’ shoulders.
