Earl S Burson Dies Carey Leader and Banker
Earl S. Burson 78 a Carey businessman and longtime chairman of the Commercial Savings Bank Upper Sandusky died at home after a three year illness. A lifelong resident he built Burson Clothing and Burson Hale Inc. Also a prominent cattle farmer he helped bring industry to Carey and guided community building projects including schools and apartments. Survived by his wife Laura and three children with multiple step relatives and grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Christ Lutheran Church with burial in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Paul Conley son of Mr and Mrs Bruce Conley of High Street has accepted a position as an electronics engineer at Sylvania Electric Products Inc in Ottawa. He began August 2 in the production engineering department after graduating from Sam's Technical Institute Indianapolis and Carew High School in 1963.

Planning Commission Discusses Zone Plans
The Village Planning Commission held a Thursday meeting to begin phase two of the comprehensive plan. The study will cover the business district water supply sanitation waste disposal storm drainage refuse and garbage disposal public utilities schools parks recreation facilities and public buildings. Phase 1 completed. final report due mid September. Approximately 25 people attended from the Village Council Crawford Township trustees Carey business people and others. Next meeting set for Thursday Sept 9 at 8 00 p.m in the Council Chambers.

Carey Police investigate two minor crashes last week. James E. Draper suffered a minor leg scratch when his bicycle struck a car driven by Jack Rall at 8 35 pm on Thursday. both drivers did not see each other. No citations issued. Debra Ann Arnold reports her 1964 Chevrolet damaged at the Carey Eagles Lodge parking lot, rear left fender about 35 dollars, after a blue gray car backed into it.
