Searfoss Family Holds Sixteenth Annual Reunion at Fahl's Grove
The Searfoss reunion drew 210 at a bountiful dinner with 400 attendees in the afternoon. Two baseball games and a merry go round provided entertainment as Wheeler Brown became president, Earl Arnold vice president, John Searfoss treasurer, and E A Baughman and Cora Baughman and Olive Searfoss on committees. The next gathering is set for the second Saturday in August at the same site.

Main Street Paving Progress Nearing Completion
Paving work on Main Street faced a delay when contractors lacked stone and had to seek materials elsewhere. The section from West Street eastward is open to traffic and concreting resumes with gravel from central state. Completion is projected in two to three days then four days for brickwork and two to three days for slushing.

Toe Torn Off In Road Roller Accident
Earl Mosier of near Adrian suffered a severe foot injury while acting as engineer on a Crawford township road roller near the L. G. Ranger farm. A spike on a big wheel caught his foot, tearing off the middle toe and the adjacent nail. He will be laid off about two weeks.

The sixth annual Savidge Burson family reunion met at Carey Park on August 8 1914 with 146 attending a forenoon social and a good dinner. City Council Approves Sidewalk Regulation and Annual Cess Pool Cleaning
Monday night the city council passed a sidewalk construction ordinance on second and third readings. A resolution requiring annual cess pool cleaning was adopted. The mayor sought council input on Sunday moving picture exhibitions and a ten dollar monthly license was set. Exploding quarry blasts and factory whistle blows at 3 am were noted.
