Bert Smith of Orzanic Products near Carey found a mastodon tooth and tusk fragment while scooping muck for fertilizer. The tooth measures 4 by 3 by 3 1/2 inches and is believed to be from the Ice Age mammal. The finds were sent to the Division of Conservation and Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society for verification.
