Life Saving Class Demonstrates Ressi-Annie at Carey Pool

Roland Smith of the Findlay Red Cross brought the lifelike manikin Ressi-Annie to the Carey pool for Jr Life Saving students to practice mouth to mouth respiration. The device, built to honor a 1957 Nor way girl who died after a crowd failed to assist, cost 251 dollars. The Findlay Chapter praised the Greyhound Bus Company for the donation received after aiding passengers in last December’s snowstorm. A senior program starts Monday at 9 am for ages 16 and up. Capable Carey Coeds and 4 H Clubs plan to paint Carey Waterworks Park tables and posts this week under George Dunn’s supervision.

Smiths Move to Toledo as Division Manager Appointed

Shuffleboard Winners Crowned in Traverse City Event

Friday winners were Lee Yentzer and Mary Shiley who defeated Karl Kimmel and Martha Reinhart. Consolation champions were Dorcas Donelson and Mary Kimmel over Denver Donelson and Gladys Yentzer. Highways Open After Bridge Construction Closure

State Routes 103 and 509, closed for bridge work, were opened to traffic last Thursday restoring through routes and easing local travel pressures according to state transportation officials.

Optometrists Honor Former Carey Man

Carey Conservation Sportsman Association sets Fall Outing and shoots

The Carey Conservation Sportsman Association plans its Annual Fall Outing Day for November 10 at the Recreational Park Club grounds. Carey Village Council approves four ordinances and more actions

Carey village council, in a regular session, approved first reading of ordinance 573 to hire Carey Community Development Corp for brochures to attract industry. It set readings for Aug 19 and Sept 2 for final passage. Three ordinances 568 571 and 572 were read second time and approved, detailing rubbish burning rules and Lakeland Drive vacating and dedication. The meeting also covered payments to the American Legion, electric bill savings, utility relocations for SR 103 bypass, gas mains issues with Ohio Fuel Gas, and purchase of 20 new picnic tables.
