Wyandot Legion Picnic and Dance in Upper Sandusky

Wyandot county American Legion sponsors a get acquainted picnic basket supper and dance on Thursday August 8 at the air grounds in Upper Sandusky. Supper starts at 7 o'clock, ex servicemen and their wives and friends are invited, free of charge. Homer Bleam's orchestra will provide music and after supper the Upper Sandusky Legion post band will perform.

Carey Moose Softball Dominates Tiffin 16 To 1

Carey Moose pitchers R Strahm and Smith held Home Heating to one run while Carey pounded 16 hits led by T Krom with a homer and three hits. Krom also had a triple and a 3-base line. Fabiani added two-base hits. The Moose finished league play 9-3, tied for second with Sandusky, and plan another game at Swan Field to boost attendance.

The Carey board of education approves the 1946 47 calendar with opening day set for Tuesday September 3. Teachers meet Labor Day to prepare for enrollment. Term ends May 23, 1947. Boys to Attend Lutheran Youth Camp

Inspection at Carey Substation Sunday

The annual inspection was conducted at the Carey substation Sunday between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. by Thomas J Vendur of Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance, Cleveland, with village insurance. Jordan named manager of Carey Farm Bureau branch

W O Jordan of Upper Sandusky has been appointed manager of the Carey branch of the Wyandot County Farm Bureau and has assumed duties. He succeeds H F P Huffman of Findlay who resigned. Jordan has worked for the Farm Bureau in Upper Sandusky for nine years and owns a farm north of the city.
