Mrs. Robert E. Cooley Completes Red Cross First Aid Course

Mrs. Robert E. Cooley of Robinson Illinois has completed a lay instructor's course in first aid sponsored by the American Red Cross. She was among 14 appointed to teach in Crawford county Illinois. The course, directed by Clifford Horton of Blooming ton Teachers College, trains local instructors for Red Cross programs including 4 H groups.

Eileen Kirkwood Enters Foreign Service After Ft Thomas Posting

On Sunday morning 2nd Lieut Eileen Kirkwood daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Kirkwood sent a telegram announcing she would report for foreign service after a February assignment with the Army Nurses Corps at Ft Thomas Kentucky. She departed that morning for New York en route to an unknown destination.

Niece of Local Resident Dies at 38 in Indianapolis Church Funeral

Mrs Idella Murphy Raftery, 38, died of heart trouble and was buried in Indianapolis. Attending the funeral were Mr and Mrs Ralph Brown of south of Carey Henry Logsdon of Upper Sandusky and Mrs Emmet Kin of Forest. She left seven children and her mother Mrs W S Taylor survives. Raftery formerly resided here.
