Pioneering Carey settler Zuch dies after long illness
Mr Zuch a longtime Carey resident and pioneer died after several days of acute illness. Born March 1 182, in Baltimore, he moved to Ohio then Carey in 1835. He worked as newsboy, grocer, druggist, sawmiller and helped build the Big Four railroad. He married Susannah Grindle in 1848. she died in 1852. Funeral held with Lutheran rites. interment in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Partition suit decided in common pleas court

Runaway Incident Ends With No Serious Injuries
A Sunday night runaway near Vigor corner involved Dean Wright from Salem township and Miss Baker of Lovell driving a buggy that overturned at the post office. Wright clung to the horse as the buggy struck a telephone pole, the horse escaped, and was caught at Alonzo Oge's place. The pair escaped uninjured, though the horse was temporarily lame and the buggy damaged.
