A heavily laden truck reportedly departed town around 1:00 PM heading toward Marion via Route 23 carrying Boy Scout members from Troops 22 and 29. Scout Master Earl Briggs led the trip to Camp Owens five miles southwest of Marion for a week of activities with many volunteers and visitors joining the opening day.

Conserva tion Camp Home From Coshocton Fry Through Sunday
Clarence Keckler a member of Company 1533 Civilian Conservation Corps stationed at Coshocton spent from Friday until Sunday at his mother Mrs Bessie Keckler in Crawford. Walter Stansbery and George Grady of Coshocton are also CCC members. The corps is in camp on fairgrounds replacing a dam in the Muskingum river. Enlisted at Marion then Fort Knox before Coshocton. Members receive clothing and five dollars monthly spending money, the rest sent to families. Coshocton residents provide dances and picture shows and sometimes dinner after church.

Ridge Township May Have State's Lowest Tax Levy

Next Monday Marion stores will open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except Saturdays to 9:00 p.m. The plan seeks uniform hours and to reduce sweat shop evils. Injured Family in Rear-End Crash on Vance Street
Mr and Mrs Forest Dame and their son Eldon were injured Friday afternoon when their Chevrolet touring car was rear ended by a Whippet sedan driven by Ger ald Arend north of town. The crash on Vance Street caused the Chevrolet to overturn and wreck. Mrs Dame and Eldon suffered facial and hand injuries while Mr Dame sustained bruises. They were taken to their home on E South Street by Harry Bristol.
