An in store demonstration from April 30 to May 2 showcases Chi-Namel Graining and Varnishing Process. The method imitates real wood floors without professional finishers and promises a durable surface after one or two coats. Also advertised are lawn mowers and a full line of dependable makes for spring.

Solomon Myers and his son Dr A F E Myers the veterinary surgeon have bought the house and lot of A H Kennerley vacated last week by Chas R Long opposite the foundry. Solomon Myers will move here this week after living east of Sycamore.
Corporal Scott Tong of Company O, 8th Infantry writes from San Francisco about one month remaining in the Philippines and relay of troop movements. He describes health, field training, and discipline issues, notes deser tions, mess fund concerns, and the social gap between rich and poor Filipinos. He recalls Leyte experiences, Filipino hospitality, and plans to send a photograph titled Two Nations United.
Last Sunday at 2:30 the Odd Fellows and Rebekas held anniversary services led by the Fire Department band. Sixty-one Odd Fellows and thirty-three Rebekas attended the United Evangelical church, where Rev. C. F. M. Greene preached in defense of secret orders. The sermon stressed that lodges aid good works and should not replace the church. A Japanese man claiming to be 170 years old is noted as the world’s oldest.
