Monday evening Mrs. J. D. Southhi fward found her flower beds ransacked as a thief trampled through tower beds stealing joan quils and blooms. Footprints suggest a possible arrest. nearby Mrs. Zetta Kennerley reported similar losses from her yard.
The Tymochtee Oil and Gas Co will drill a well on the Whaley farm at Crawford. Equipment arrived Saturday and drilling will start soon. W A Diver of Fostoria, with twenty eight years in oil fields, to supervise as superintendent.

S Harvey Bailey a former Carey resident died April 23 1920 in Peoria Ill from asphyxiation by strangulation in a hospital room. He had moved with his family to Charleston and then Decatur where he managed a Woolson Spice store before illness. Funeral in Decatur with 37 floral pieces and over 20 cars in procession. burial planned in Carey. He is survived by wife Jenetta Tong and seven children Ruth Paul Robert Ralph Henrietta Samuel and David.
On the final school day at Texas a noon picnic drew 61 attendees. Miss Ruth Kauble led a successful program with songs recitations and dialogues performed by students Esth er Wise Raymond Shaffer Elmo Reynolds Wendell Wentling Clarence Spitler Howard Wise Mildred Corbin Paul Wentz and Lillian Corbin. A Victrola concert augmented the program and the class gifted the teacher a sherbet set.

The Carey circuit of the United Brethren church in Sandusky conference reports reaching $4852 toward a $4188 quota. The Carey church itself raised $1741 toward a $1064 target, contributing to the circuit’s over the top achievement.
Tippin reports good business at Modern Hatchery this season. Hatches have been remarkably successful and this week 12500 baby chicks were shipped to customers across the country. Losses were very small from this large number of eyes.
