Will of George Opper Filed for Probation Readings

The will of the late George Opper is filed for probate with the will to be read Tuesday May 11 at ten o clock. Attorney George Goodrich of Upper Sandusky is noted as advisor in the case. Jubilee convention of Wyandot county Sunday schools planned for Upper Sandusky May 4 and 6 with Rev J H Williams and S A Chesebrough on the program.

Big Four Railway Track Improvements Underway

Work on the Big Four line between this city and Sandusky continues with gravel laid and the track raised eight inches to first class condition. Heavier rails will be installed as forces work at multiple points along the road. A special car brought workers and cement platform work at the station, with slides of earnings covering the end of March.

Onions as Big as Teacups in Texas Farm Raise

J. 3. Wonder, Esq reports from Cotulla Texas that onions are growing to teacup size and nearing harvest. He notes previous crops reached thirty inches tall. After harvest Kaffir corn will be planted to fuel a fodder crop. Wonder’s onion crate machine, built in Wake Texas, is nearly ready and could spawn crate making in Carey with a potential branch and thousands of crates. The project promises local economic benefits for the town.

Crawford Township Teachers Meet and G A R Souvenirs

Teachers of Crawford township met Saturday afternoon in the city hall room and after the regular business voted thanks to Garey Post No. 173 G A R for souvenirs. The juveniles received Lincoln's Gettysburg speech framed for display.

Forty Hours Devotion at St Nicholas Fenchtown

The Forty Hours Devotion service was held at St Nicholas church in Fenchtown over Sunday and Monday. Assisting the pastor Rev J P Haupert were Rev Mizer who attended Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday forenoon. Other priests from nearby towns assisted in the services which concluded Tuesday.

Provisions cover speed limits in municipalities, requirements to slow and stop for horseback traffic, and penalties for violations. Additional rules require keeping to the right on public roads to keep space for others and outline first to third offense fines and possible imprisonment.

Carey Public Schools to Present Fundraiser Concert

An April 30 fundraiser at Snyder's Opera House will support art purchases for Carey Public Schools. Tickets are twenty cents with a packed program featuring recitals, solos, duets, dances, and a stage play performed by students and staff, including the High School Pupils and grade groups.

Birthday Surprise For Mr BF Brown In Tymochtee Area

A surprise 48th birthday celebration was held Saturday evening for Mr BF Brown 14% Brown who lives three and a half miles southwest of town. Guests included Mrs Valinda Brown and families from Forest Tymochtee and nearby areas with a supper and a program of violin and piano music. A handsome chair and other presents were given to Mr Brown.

Death of Infant in Steen Family

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Steen died Monday morning after a Saturday night birth. Short funeral services were held at the Steen home Monday afternoon at two o'clock by Rev. Stewart Baumgarner.
