Carey High Band Earns Excellent in State Finals at Harding
The Carey High School Band won an Excellent Rating in class B-2 at the State Band Finals held at Harding High School in Marion last Saturday. Carey’s enrollment is 272 in four years. Seventeen bands attended, all advancing from district auditions. A combined May concert with Upper Sandusky High School, featuring about 150 musicians, closes the musical year. The Latin Club met April 22 with Lorine May presiding and two games won by Susie Greer and Sara Remig. Refreshments were provided by the Apul committee: Anna Wohlgamuth, Sara Sparks, Mignon McChesney, Kay Saunders, Carol Barger, and Linda Treece.

Anti-Polio Shots To Be Given In Carey Friday
Vaccine supplies arrived in Wyandot county for first and second graders in Col Crawford and West schools with inoculations starting 9 a.m. Friday. Two local doctors will administer shots. almost all parents consented. Our Lady of Consolation School will begin at 1 p.m. Friday with nearly 100 percent parental consent. Joe and Tom Bernardy plan to hand out 180 lollipops at public schools and 88 at the parish school during the vaccination day.
