Woman injured by glass can in kitchen accident

Mrs. Harry Stoll of southwest of Carey is recovering in Findlay hospital after surgery to remove her left eye. A broken glass can of meat shattered while she was tightening the lid, splashing hot meat and broth into her face several weeks ago.

By popular request the junior class will repeat the three act farce Dotty and Daffy on Friday evening April 28 at 8 o clock in the school auditorium. The play drew a large and enthusiastic crowd last Friday night.

Ranger Carrier Heads to New York for World’s Fair Duty

Russell L. Stout from Norfolk reports the U S S Ranger arrived for duty after a Boston wait and joins the Atlantic squadron. The fleet sails for the Pacific, while Ranger stays to represent the Naval Air Force at the World’s Fair in New York from April 26 to May 16, occupying Pier 32. He hopes for a West Coast deployment afterward and invites Carey residents in New York to seek him out.

District Initiation Planned by Carey Aerie Fraternal Order

Carey Aerie No 2198 FOE hosted a district meeting at the local hall on Tuesday evening with Bucyrus Marion Tiffin Kenton and Upper Sandusky represented. Plans were made for a district initiation to be held in Carey on Sunday May 7.

Caretaker notice calls cleanup week May 8 in Carey

Quail Legislation Debated By Ohio Sportsmen Clubs

The Ohio quail bills were tabled or withdrawn after farmers opposed them. The League of Ohio Sportsmen declined to take a stand, urging farmer approval or disapproval for any game list changes. Phil harmonic Concert Marked Success

More than 300 people attended the Carey Philharmonic Society concert at the Methodist Episcopal church last Thursday evening. Ushers included Matthas Jane Keller Janis Wen ner Jeanne Capell and Barbara Houk. A reception followed in church parlors with invited Philharmonic societies from Fostoria Upper Sandusky and Findlay. Glenna Kurtz presented The Village Blacksmith with assistance from Mrs. William Bee. Refreshments were served.
