City Council approves street labor bills and repairs plan
In regular session the City Council approved numerous street labor bills for workers including Clay Nye Edward Nye Robert Drake Jacob Greno Frank Bare Chet Englin Joho Linderbeck David Hall Joho Greno Joseph Hook Ben Donaldson John Sherman and others. The Street committee reported 63.50 damage assessment for Kerlin Bros and the clerk was authorized to pursue collection. The street commissioner was directed to repair a catch basin on South street in front of the Union School. The mayor granted Dr. B L Wallace permission to lay a cellar drain from Main street east to Munsey street then south to Spring Run, to be placed between curb and sidewalk.

Hopkins Long longtime resident died Friday after sudden illness. He lived near the target area and was moved to E S Shellhouse and then to Brayton cemetery. Survived by four children William Thomas Mrs Charles Hotelling and Mrs Frank Miller. Pallbearers included J S Nye J T Myers Joseph Battenfield Oscar Hotelling J S LeMott and Ed Gibbs. Rev Weltmer conducted burial service. He was about eighty years old.

Regulations Adopted By Board Of Health On Rubbish Disposal
The Board of Health at its meeting Tuesday night adopted two regulations. First, property owners may obtain the dumping ground key from the Sanitary Policeman to dispose of rubbish except for dead animals spoiled meat night soil or other filth. Second, the Health Officer and Sanitary Policeman must require business area owners and tenants to remove all rubbish and filth from premises.
