F H A Mother Daughter Banquet Held at Local Church

The F H A girls hosted their annual Mother Daughter banquet on April 19 in the Methodist Church basement. Decorations featured red and white the club colors and the program by mothers and daughters included a one act play musical readings humorous recitations and musical numbers.

On Friday morning April 22 B53 eighth grade students will take the 8th grade state test. The annual exam contains 200 questions across Mathematics English history and science. Students will receive a rewarding afternoon after the test.

Carey High School Band Earns Superior Rating at District Meet

Carey High School concert band received a superior rating at the North Central district competition held at Hopewell Loudon High School in Bascom. The 53 piece ensemble, led by Lewis Hawk, qualified for the state contest in Springfield on May 14 and earned high praise for its marching as well as concert performances.

Carey bowler sets state tournament high in Toledo

Glenn Walborn of Carey rolled the highest score at the American Legion State bowling tournament in Toledo in March. He knocked down 1764 pins over 9 games as part of a Carey Legion team that included John Bakies Ed Bakies Daniel Odone and William Ward. Walborn will receive a trophy and cash award.
