Fragmentary OCR text lists staff roles for a Hartman publication with Dorothy Bast as editor and Peggy Laird Elizabeth Romig and Richard Rook as editors and associates including sports and activity editors. Names like Jerry Hunter Sam McChesney Tommy Atkins June Hill Norma Strahm appear as reporters or contributors.
The F H A girls hosted their annual Mother Daughter banquet on April 19 in the Methodist Church basement. Decorations featured red and white the club colors and the program by mothers and daughters included a one act play musical readings humorous recitations and musical numbers.
On Friday morning April 22 B53 eighth grade students will take the 8th grade state test. The annual exam contains 200 questions across Mathematics English history and science. Students will receive a rewarding afternoon after the test.
Carey High School concert band received a superior rating at the North Central district competition held at Hopewell Loudon High School in Bascom. The 53 piece ensemble, led by Lewis Hawk, qualified for the state contest in Springfield on May 14 and earned high praise for its marching as well as concert performances.
The Carey farmers community group will meet Monday evening April 25 at the K of C hall. Officers will be elected, with Frank Miller Ralph Heck and L A Reinhart directing the program and Robert Mott Floyd Shetler and Carl Stuck handling refreshments.
Decker's Red Shirts will provide music for the Carey Band Mothers dance and card party at the high school auditorium Friday April 22 at 8 PM. Cakewalk tickets 50 cents available from any Bang mother or at the door.

Local pharmacist Harry Myers sponsors an American Cancer Society program during National Pharmacy Week April 24 to 30. A motion picture on cancer will be shown at Gibbins restaurant at 7 30 with dinner at 6 45. Myers will discuss pharmacists role in disease control and invite the public to attend and register at Harry's Drug Store before Tuesday noon.
Eligible pupils may attend West or Colonel Crawford school at 1 00 p m Friday April 29 for a first taste of public schools. First grade pupils will be excused at noon. Parents may obtain enrollment blanks from any elementary teacher or pupil and send the completed slip with their child.
Palm Leaf Rebekeh Lodge No. 656 schedules a meeting at 8 o'clock Tuesday evening April 26. The April committee members listed include Mrs J F Dible Mrs Mary Cole Mrs Della Carr Mrs Forest Dame Mrs Alfred Davis Mrs D D DeVene Mrs Cora Howard Miss Sadie Fosty Mrs O L Kidwell Miss Romaine Frederick and Mrs Electa Long Houpt. A potluck supper will be served and all members are urged to bring their sales tax stamps.
Glenn Walborn of Carey rolled the highest score at the American Legion State bowling tournament in Toledo in March. He knocked down 1764 pins over 9 games as part of a Carey Legion team that included John Bakies Ed Bakies Daniel Odone and William Ward. Walborn will receive a trophy and cash award.
Supt. George A. Hartman will address the Methodist Men's Brotherhood on April 26 at 8 PM in the church assembly hall. He will discuss "The Crisis in Our Public Schools" and refreshments will follow. All Methodist men are urged to attend and bring a friend.
A piano recital and musical program will be held next Thursday evening April 28 at 8 o’clock in the Catholic fralt. The program lists performances by students under Mary Jane Collet Barbara Riester and others including Judith Dible Judy Markley Deanna Greer Kerry Lee Hall and James Jacoby. Attendees are welcome and certificates will be distributed.
The Carey Conservation League announces headquarters at 112 Findlay Street. Remodeling will finish this week and board meetings will be held at the new site. Bernard Jacob donated the rooms. A May membership meeting is planned.
At the annual Alpha Iota Delta Beta chapter election at Tiffin Business University Miss Alene Hoepf was named president and Miss Rita Reinhart, vice president and treasurer. Hoepf is daughter of Mr and Mrs Clarence Hoepf of S Munice street and Reinhart is a favorite aide to Reinhart of south of Carey. The Alpha Iota is an international and national business sorority.

The Loyal Order of Moose Carey lodge has provided 50 free transfusions in two years and now aims to reach 300 blood donors. In two recent cases transfusions supported Mrs Dale Rickle and Alice Ann Mathern. Donors need only be typed. volunteering to donate is optional and service is available to nonmembers locally.
First Methodist church school hosts a parent teacher meeting in the church parlors on Sunday April 24 at 745 p m. Rev Lester Norris executive secretary of the Ohio conference board of education speaks on The Relation of the Home to the Church in Christian Education. Refreshments and children’s activities provided.
The Ohio Northern chapter of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers will hold a dinner meeting at 6 45 this evening in Brubaker's restaurant Findlay. L G Williams of Jones Henry Schoonmaker Toledo will address the group about new additions to Findlay's water system. Dr Rapa Vogel of Carey, a society member, expects to attend.
The will of Maggie Kieffer of Tiffin filed in Seneca county probate court leaves $800 to her nephew Carl Albert Kieffer after a $300 bequest to the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation. The will, dated May 1S, names the National Bank of Tiffin as executor.

The Carey Philharmonic Society will present its annual Spring Concert on Wednesday at 8:30 PM in the New Carey Theatre. Alvin Burkholder of Findlay directs. Mrs. Jerome Bernard is the accompanist. The program includes works by Humperdinck, Tschaikowsky, Schubert, Offenbach and Beethoven among others, with a full list of soloists and choir members from the Carey Philharmonic Society.
