Easter Services At Methodist Church Draw Large Turnout
The Haster Methodist congregation held well attended services with 350 people counted. The morning devotional was led by Miss Thelma Worner and the Sunday school offered a mixed program directed by Mrs. Lawrence Bland Mrs. Samuel Gunther and Mrs. George Snyder. Nine babies and two adults were baptized and eleven adults joined the church. A new baptismal font a pulpit scarf and Bible marker were unveiled. The Easter sermon preceded an evening choir cantata The Greatest Love with solos duets and trios by noted performers and Roger Lindsay on the organ.

Rev H M Snyder of Springfield will replace the absent pastor Rev Lewis P Speaker at next Sunday morning services. Wittenberg College faculty member Mr Snyder will preach. Christ Church paid 100 percent of its Wittenberg pledge of 5342 dollars, Vanlue exceeded its quota, total over 5700 dollars. The five year pledge shrinkage was under 2 percent, offset by special offerings. The Large Givers Committee aims to raise about 50000 dollars for the Rockefeller gift. Reba Adelia Newcomer died Sunday at her parents home northwest of town after a week long pneumonia illness. Born March 18 1923 she was 2 years 28 days old. Survived by parents two brothers Robert and Samuel one sister Nina. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon Rev John Wie officiating. Straw Stack Fire at Kennerley Farm West of Town

Mark Allen Washburn born April 5 1856 in Collins New York died April 9 1925 at Carey Ohio after a long illness diabetes.
