The Carey White Sox and Carey High School teams are set to play a Friday game on April 12. Both squads aim to showcase talent and compete for bragging rights in the local matchup.
G. H. Sutphen will leave next Saturday for Erie Pennsylvania to join Tinney's Concert Band for the season. He will play the clarinet and the band has an engagement with the Cole Brothers show as its highlight.
The annual high school commencement will be held at Snyder's Opera House on Thursday evening in May. Thirteen students graduate this year, ten young ladies and three young men. Brauns Orchestra of Upper Sandusky will provide the music.
Resigned. Rev U S Bowers last Sunday offered his resignation as pastor of the Lutheran church in this city. He has accepted a unanimous call to the First Lutheran church at Findlay and will take effect May first.
The Athenian Literary society met Friday evening with J Nitrauer presiding at 7 30. Irene Gillet read, Clare Elving wrote an essay, and Delibate debated the republics stability. Everett Smith and Jato Puchta spoke for the affirmative, Ruth Ewing and Russell Kurtz for the negative. The emcees were applauded for study and effort. The society sent challenges to Upper Sandusky and Fostoria High Schools, which were not accepted.
Mrs Ephraim Sieber died at her home in Bigiuck township Hancock county on Wednesday April 3. Born Lavina Sponhour in Lancaster county Pennsylvania she emigrated to the state in 1866. She married Ephraim Sieber December 25 1860 and is survived by her husband two brothers one sister. Funeral at St Johns church conducted by Rev L H Dickey with many distant attendees.
Orville Dame was running across Mrs. Pravis lawn when he caught on a barbed wire fence placed to keep people off the lawn. A half-dollar sized mesh tore his cheek and a deep gash near the mouth corner bled to the bone. Dr. A H Myers attended and dressed the wounds.

Josty, Laird and Hood do the drainage work. W H Snyder furnishes lumber. The six room Perkins house on Browh Ave is up and will soon have a roof. W A Perkins furnishes lumber. W H Snyder builds a $3500 residence for John Ohman near Vanlue. John Week built a 16 by 28 foot barn and an house addition. W A Perkins furnishes lumber. The united Evangelical Church is building a barn at the parsonage on Findlay St with W A Perkins and W H Snyder furnishing material and the rough timber donated.

Tests reportedly satisfied experts, with government interest and planned sea tests aboard battleships. The Chicago Record-Herald cites a two column piece asserting a revolution in fuel cost by two thirds.
