Carey Mayor and Wife Cruise to Nassau on Ocean Voyage
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Wagner of Carey Ohio sailed on the S S Queen of Nassau for an overnight Nassau cruise their first ocean voyage. They used the ship as their hotel enjoyed straw markets and Paradise Beach pink sand and celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. They have seven children and eleven grandchildren.

Truck Driver Injured In Fall From Rear of Truck
Paul Blake of North Baltimore an employee of Commercial Motor Freight was injured when he fell backward from the rear of his truck on E Findlay Street in front of the Pastime. He was taken by Bristoll’s ambulance to Blanchard Valley Hospital where X rays showed a chipped vertebra. He is the son-in-law of Mr and Mrs Orville Wohlgamuth and remained under care with a back brace anticipated for some time.

Joseph Bernard nine year old son of Mr and Mrs Jerome F Bernard won ninth place in the 1954 Billy and Ruth Americanism contest. He named his picture Hands joined freely like brothers cant make fists and received a pair of skates from Harmony Shop presented by store owner Orton Wilgus. Previously he won fourth prize in a Mary Ellen sponsored contest on WSPD TV and appeared on Funharm.

More than 1000 students from three Northwestern Ohio districts competed at Bowling Green State University in the Ohio Music Association state finals.
