The Senior class crowns both boys and girls basketball champions in finals. Sophomore girls struggle to score while Seniors dominate, 19 to 13 for the girls and 19 to 6 for the boys. The reporter signs off, hinting at resignation and many thanks.

Miss Lucille Perkins a Bell telephone operator suffered a severe bruise and slight concussion when a steel filing cabinet toppled at her Findlay workplace Sunday afternoon. She was attended by Mrs. George Perkins and Ralph Veith of Upper Sandusky who visited on Monday evening. no bones were broken and she is recovering.
Andrew Barnett, 22, pleaded guilty to stealing wire fence from the Wilbur Peters farm in Biglick township and was fined $50 plus costs and jailed 30 days. Cousin Adam Barnett, 28, faced the same charge and was released on parole after probate court custody. Tilden Barnett, father, also released. The family is from Kentucky and resided near Carey.
Lester Morehart of Vanlue was hit by an automobile Wednesday evening while crossing the street. He suffered cuts to the face and hand but is recovering and expected to be out in a few days.
The Rebekahs will hold a regular meeting on Thursday evening April 12.
The Methodist church opened day services at 2:00 PM with the Foreign Missionary Society meeting led by Mrs S Chesebrough. Mrs C W Sultzbach gave a talk and scripture reading, followed by prayers and minutes.
Mrs. Effie Charlotte Bland Rife died at her Lowell residence after a heart attack. Born March 12 1871 in Wyandot County she married Charles Rife December 23 1886. Survived by husband several children and Bland brothers with funeral set Thursday at 2 pm at the Rife home. Burial in McCutchenville cemetery.
Mrs. Wiley Lea aged 74 died Saturday morning at her Oak Grove home after asthma and paralysis. Funeral held Monday from Renshler mortuary Findlay with burial in Alspach Cemetery. Pallbearers named Frank Temple Clint Chambers Virgil Ward Lawrence Dible Roy Eschbach George Dewey. Survivors include Wiley Lea her husband two siblings Barett Milamore Findlay and Ida Crosser Arlington. Vertie Bame and daughter Miss Mabel attended.
The mayor announces a ban on roller skating on Findlay street between Patterson and the post office and on Vance street between Clay and North street. Enforced by city authorities.
Mrs W L Mohler entertained the No Trump club at her Findlay Street home last evening. Miss Hilda Jacobs will host the club in two weeks.

Miss Helen Louise Boes and Eugene Francis Smith wed at Our Lady of Consolation church in a ceremony conducted by Rev. Father Paul Vollrath. The bride, daughter of Frank X. Boes, wore blue chiffon. the groom is son of Charles Smith of near Tiffin. They plan a weeklong Indiana honeymoon and will reside on a farm near Tiffin. Mrs Smith is Calvert high school alumna, class of 1930. Mr Smith, Calvert class of 1927.
Carey members are invited to attend initiation at the K of C hall in Findlay on Sunday afternoon April 17 at 2 00 o clock. A new branch is being organized there.
At the regular meeting on Monday evening the Carey Council received into membership by transfer three juveniles Artimisha Hoff Mary Jane Myers and Mary Yost. After adjournment several members played cards.
Dr Homer R Dunathan president of Findlay college spoke to the Kiwanis club on worthwhile aims in college education at a Monday noon meeting in the Galt Hotel dining room. Sixteen Kiwanians attended with one guest W G Riley. Beginning April 11 meetings move to 6 15 Monday evenings and Dr Stroup of Norwalk lieutenant governor will speak next Monday.
C P Williams of Toledo a former Carey resident visited Friday on business. He was northern passenger agent for the C and O with Detroit HQs and has been transferred to Columbus as traveling passenger agent. His daughter Syl via Sylvia Sherron plays with the Tune Tinker Lasses in Toledo. Maxine 17 attends Scott High and runs the girls orchestra.
Information says the transport ship Chaumont with Lieut Earl Criger as chaplain has departed Shanghai and is due in San Francisco on Wednesday, April 20.
Mr and Mrs Ned Nye announce the marriage of their daughter Zitella to Charles Hale son of Mr and Mrs Roy Hale of east of Sycamore. The couple were married in Covington Kentucky.

The Carey community club held its annual ladies banquet last Thursday at Knights of Pythias hall. Memorial Evangelical Church ladies served a sumptuous dinner while Limestone Ridge Trio provided music. Dr. F. A. Stengel of Marion spoke on a Westward trip with Grand Canyon sights. A paper on Our Farm Situation was read by Mrs. C. C. Thome. Attendees included Rev. and Mrs. Paulin, Rev. and Mrs. Sultzbach, County official spouses, and local officials Harry Bardon and Henry Failor.
Over 4,300 students across four counties participated in the third annual scholarship tests. Glen C. Smiley of Carey led Wyandot county with 292.5 points. Other top county seniors included George S. Stout 281.0, Mary Jane Gaver 273.5, Evelyn F. Eatherton 266.5, Elizabeth B. Stalter 257, and multiple 230s to 251.5 among Upper Sandusky, Carey, Wharton, Salem, and Harpster students.
