High School Ends Holy Week Devotional Series

Over several days the high school held devotional meetings during Holy Week led by Hi-Y sponsors. Clergy from Evangelical, Christ Lutheran, Methodist Episcopal and Our Lady of Consolation parishes spoke to students. Local ministers also discussed the Young People’s convention set for April 15 in Helikvin Nevada.

Absence record hits new low for period

Tuesday this week marked a new low in absences over nearly two months with a total of 50 people out of the entire system missing.

Molly Be Jolly Theatre Play Planned by Our Lady of Consolation Students

The 5th and 6th graders of Our Lady of Consolation school stage Molly Be Jolly on Sunday April 16 in the Green barn. A bored city cousin rediscovers joy through a farm circus during rehearsals, with two notable spectators arriving to heighten the plot.

Westinghouse Electric Corp with dealer W H Houk & Son will hold an electric cooking school at the Catholic hall on Friday May 5. Carey man named assistant at John Deere store

Russell Thom of Carey had been employed as assistant to the manager of the local John Deere store. The store is owned by W. F. Treeger of Tiffin, and his son Robert Creeger is manager.

Palm Sunday Confirmation At Christ Lutheran Church

A large class of young people at Christ Lutheran Church received the Rite of Confirmation during Palm Sunday services. Rev. Paui R. Clouser delivered the address "Jesus' Word of Challenge: Follow Me" as the junior choir, led by Miss Elsie Howard, performed Nevin's Ride On Ride On in Majesty. Carey Churches Invite All To Good Friday Service

Protestant churches in Carey join a Friday service from 1 to 3 pm at Christ Lutheran Church. Meditations on the Seven Last Words from the Cross will be given by three local ministers and three visiting ministers. Music by Christ Lutheran Church choir. Community invitation to participate in these Good Friday devotions.

Lutheran Services Outline Easter Church Schedule

A service at Christ Lutheran church Thursday evening begins at 7 30 with the Order of Public Confession adult baptism and confirmation and the Lord's Supper. An Easter Day early service at 6 30 includes baptism. The 10 30 service will baptize infants and children and offer the Lord's Supper.

Wyandot County Ministerial Association denounces an Easter church publicity card scam in which a Rev Wagner collected funds for 37 Carey area ads and 35 Upper Sandusky ads. New Manager at Atlantic and Pacific

Fred Salisbury of Findlay is the new manager of the local A and P store. He and his wife with their 3 year old son have moved to the McArthur property on 320 EK Findlay Street for house keeping. Favorable Hybrid Seed Samples Pass National Contest

Shane of four miles south of Carey submitted hybrid seed corn samples to a national contest in West Chester Pa. Over 200 entries from the corn belt were inspected and only 40 passed the test, including three Shane submissions among the winners.

A hundred men camped here lay 136 pound steel rail on the Cleveland and Ohio line. Last week they installed a new rail between Carew and Crawford and this week continue spiking rails between Carew and Alvada.
