Wyandot County appoints Carter as judge to replace Close

Earl B. Carter of Upper Sandusky is named Wyandot county common pleas judge by Governor Donahey to fill the unexpired term of Charles F. Close who resigns April 1. Close will join Shuiver Sanders & Dempsey in Cleveland after leaving office.

Stephen Vaughn Dies in Georgia On Way Home

Stephen Vaughn retired farmer of 527 Center street died last night in Jonesboro Georgia while en route to his home from Florida with his wife. He had been in ill health for years. The body will arrive here tomorrow for funeral arrangements. Surviving: wife and one son Lewis Vaughn of Toledo and one brother Joseph Vaughn of Carey.

Easter Cantata to open Easter observances at church

The Quarterly Conference met in the church Tuesday afternoon at 2 30. The pastor will deliver an Easter message The Message of the Empty Tomb. New members will be received and Baptism will be held during worship. On April 4 at 7 30 the choir will present cantata Love Triumphant, a musical telling of the first Easter.

Earl Briggs resigns as foreman of the C. Y. bridge gang and partners with brother in law John Rothgeb to start a concrete contracting firm. They buy a cement mixer from R. D. Perkins and a truck from Ross Johnson. Rothgeb has prior contract work experience spanning over a year.

Minstrel Show Cast Named for Catholic Hall Event

An 81 pound son was born Monday to Mr and Mrs Firmin Pahl east of Carey. A son to Mr and Mrs Burlin C Cupp southeast of Brownstown Tuesday morning. A daughter to Mr and Mrs George Armbruster Pitt Township Wednesday evening of last week. A son to Mr and Mrs Avery Hawkins Jackson Township Wednesday morning of last week. A daughter to Mr and Mrs Geo EH Zahn Marion at Marion City Hospital March 3 named Rose Marie. The Zahns are former Carey residents. Mr Zahn formerly ran the restaurant across from the Big Four freight house.

Menagerie at park ends as bear dies before move

Carey’s menagerie will cease as the park bear died Monday hours before an official from Kenton arrived to remove him. The cause of death is unknown after the bear fell ill Saturday and was found dead Monday. Joe Bulock buried the animal and kept the pelt. foxes were sent to the state farm at Columbus.

Moose Lodge to Relocate Over Club Pool Room

The Moose lodge will move from the Gottfried block on S Vance street to rooms above the Club pool room. Fartitions will be removed and a large assembly room created. Gottfried Bros urged the move due to dances causing ceiling vibrations in the hall.

Miss Della Gilliland and Mrs Ber Nice Wilson attended a Marion meeting of Real Silk Trostery salesmen. A two weeks sales drive ended Saturday with Mrs Wilson winning second prize. A local man led in sales during the drive.

The Marion degree team presented the first tank ceremony unseen here before with a stirring tale of Damon and Pythias. Visitors included Judge Charles L. Tozer Accepts Chicago Pastorate Leaving Carey Soon

Rev A G Tozer of the local Evangelical church will assume a pastorate at Ashland Avenue Evangelical church in Chicago and depart Carey in about three weeks. The Illinois conference meets March 18 prompting the mid year move. He will pursue post graduate work while his wife continues music studies.

Boy struck by car injures head in suburban incident

Frank Troiano son of Mr and Mrs James Trosiano of BH Findlay street was knocked down Friday afternoon by an Illinois salesman driven auto. The driver says the boy stepped from behind a truck into the path of the car. He suffered a head injury and bruises but is recovering nicely.
