Affordable housing project on horizon in city plan
The city aims to create at least 60 low income housing units on 2.7 acres at Calle Rolando and Alipaz Street as part of a broader effort to meet 2006 affordable housing goals. Developer Suncal, in escrow on the $2 million property, will deed land to the city to satisfy requirements for Suncal's 416 home Valle Road and Camino Las Ramblas project. Mercy Housing California partners with the city, with a $50,000 council-approved study and site plan effort, while Saddleback Valley Christian School faces a separate legal challenge over a related development.
