London reports say Britain threatens war on Turkish nationalists in Asia Minor. A British fleet is being assembled at Malta to cooperate with the Greek army facing Turkish forces at Anatolia. Premier George is said to be friendly toward Greece and hostile to Turkish nationalists, while Constantinople dispatches claim the Turkish government regards Britain as at war.
Washington reports say Donal O Callaghan, Cork's lord mayor, arrived in the United States as a visitor, then left after assurances from labor officials. He faces possible surrender to immigration authorities as a stowaway, with no details given about his current location or departure date.
Police Judge A F O Neill of Akron was found guilty in police court on a traffic violation and fined 1 with costs. He did not appear at 4 PM when scheduled. an attorney later paid the fine after a brief continuance request was refused.
Dr George E Jackson pastor of the First Presbyterian Canton for 11 years died suddenly in his Oxford home after a stroke. His wife remains in Cincinnati hospital in serious condition after surgery. Deputies sought Steve Virice on a charge and police refused to release him. An order directed Gaucher to produce Virice by 9 a.m. Saturday, but deputies failed to obtain papers before he was moved toward Pennsylvania for trial.

In Columbia Missouri on June 4 the jury found Frank Statts guilty of murdering his 79 year old grandfather Samuel Halstead last June 25. Statts received a ten year sentence after seven hours of deliberation. More than a dozen deaf mute witnesses testified in sign language contributing to the verdict.

Washington June 4 The senate agriculture committee voted to report favorably the senate packing control bill as a substitute for the house measure regulating the packing industry. The senate plan puts control under a five member stock commission, while the house bill places control with the secretary of agriculture. House opposition could delay passage at the conference stage.

The body of Dick Howell, who killed Canton detective Anthony Skotnicky and was electrocuted at the Ohio penitentiary in Columbus, was buried Friday afternoon in East Liverpool near his former home. Services at Miller’s funeral parlor were private with only relatives and a few attendees present per request of Mrs. Howell.
