Four Cameron Teens Injured in Two Car Crash
Four Cameron teenagers from Temple Junior College suffered injuries in a two car collision on US 190 a mile south of Rogers. Johnny Springer was seriously hurt with a fractured skull and minor cuts. The others, Stanley Price Roy Wohleb and Aileen Ruth Pilling, received cuts and bruises and were treated at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple before release.

A Milam District jury awarded $12,500 to Bernice Suttles and children in the case against Texas Employers Insurance Association after Bernice Suttles’ husband died of a heart attack at an Alcoa potroom on May 16, 1960. A $50 check from G. A. McDermott of Cameron lifted Milam County’s Hurricane Carla disaster fund to $250 this week. Chair Maxwell and others urge residents to donate up to $1,228 for South Texas relief. F. A. Marek contributed $200 as the first local gift. Donations are handled through the County School Superintendent at the courthouse and used immediately. Used clothing, shoes, and blankets are being collected at the old Sunday School Annex of the First Baptist Church for distribution to affected families.
