Destroy Cotton Stalks Early And Destroy The Insects
Cotton stalks should be destroyed at least 30 days before the first killing frost to starve boll weevils and pink bollworms and reduce next year’s populations. Early destruction cuts food sources, lowers hibernation survival, and minimizes insecticide costs, especially when done county wide. Where freezes are unlikely, stalks may be left until after a hard frost.

Local social notes from Yarrellton and Cameron area
Miss Millie Lesikar and mother Mrs. Mary Lesikar visited Cameron Saturday evening. Aleene Griswold of Austin spent the weekend with her mother Mrs. Leona Griswold and returned to Austin with Aleene. Will Gandy funeral draws community sympathy. Scarce feed items prompt planting supplemental small grain pastures with proper fertilizer to boost winter livestock rations.
