Pioneers Celebrate Golden Anniversary in Cameron
Mr. and Mrs. Lou Meyers celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary at home in Cameron on September 16. Mrs. Meyers, formerly Margarette Pierce of Bridgeport Illinois, married in Fort Worth Texas on September 16 1883 and moved to Cameron. They have five living children Edna Meyers Ruby Carlton Von Rosenberg Pred Meyers and Lalla Meyers. Lalla and Von Rosenberg attended but illness kept a larger celebration from happening.

Old Star Mother Visits Grave of Son in Europe Trip
Mrs. Lilian Beavers of Milano, a Gold Star Mother, returned September 14 from Europe where she was a guest of the government. Her son, a private in Battalion G, 90th Division of Texas, died September 29, 1918 after being gassed and buried at St. Michiel cemetery with other fallen soldiers. She praised the treatment of Gold Mothers aboard ships The President and S S Washington, and met her daughter Junita McClure in New York City August 24. Her Cameron visit followed with her son Thomas Henderson Beavers.
