Laake's Drug Store in Santa Fe Town was nearly gutted by a 10 30 p m fire Sunday. Fire officials suggest the blaze may have started from motor freezing machinery in the ice cream line. The building owned by Mr Kubeels of Buckholts sustained damage. contents were a total loss. Firemen arrived as flames surged from the center of the store. Laake thanked the department for quick work. The store will close pending insurance adjustments but reopen soon.
