Inmate Dies From Knife Wound After Prison Dispute
Ed Murray, an elderly inmate at Milam County's poorhouse colony on the north city limits, died in a local hospital at 7 45 am Saturday from a knife wound inflicted by fellow inmate Woodson Hawkins. The clash followed an afternoon argument over an alleged nude walk and a chair swing on the front porch. Deputy Sheriff Clarence McCall reported Murray was taken to the hospital after Hawkins cut him.
