Car Hits Train at Crossing Near Heintze Station
Jim Mullinax and companion W. T. Gann escaped serious injuries after Mullinax drove his car into a slowly moving freight train at a crossing by the Heintze filling station. Deputy Dan Gunn, on duty for a Sept 16 Mexican celebration, arrived soon after and noted Mullinax misread a lantern signal as a Mexican cigarette. Both vehicle and train were traveling slowly.

Dr. W. E. Pierson of Buckholts was maced in Milam county Tuesday night and returned to Buckholts Wednesday by Constable Elimar Horstmann. A drunkenness charge was filed in Justice D. R. Criswell's court at Buckholts. Pierson had moved from Dallas about a month ago to practice medicine.
