Currently the district operates under a $108,000 grant funding 20 teachers aides and other part time staff at North Side Schools and Hearne High School.
Georgetown and West Williamson County regroup into the 10th Congressional District with office changes effective January 1, 1975. Williamson County gains 14,067 residents from the 1970 census while Belton plans a tax equalization study ahead of a possible new high school election.

UNICEF aids programs in 111 countries and territories with 780 million children under 15. Safety tips warn parents and motorists to escort children, wear bright costumes, and drive slowly on Halloween night.

Buckholts Halloween Carnival slated for October 30 with food booths and games.
Three hundred and thirty persons were screened at Rockdale Elementary School by five ophthalmologists from the Travis and Bell County Medical Societies. Volunteers included the Woman's Auxiliary, Rockdale Lions Club members and their wives, with local nurses assisting. Nine adults learned they had elevated eye pressure, an early sign of glaucoma.
