Cameron Yoemen face tough schedule as undefeated run eyed

Cameron Yoemen stand 8-0 in State AA, boasting a 33 point per game offense and 6 point defense as Caldwell Rockdale Buckholts loom as potential upsetters. Rockdale moves to Class AAA next year while Cameron remains AA for two more seasons and Yee freshmen and B-Team travel to A&M Consolidated Thursday October 23 for a 3 PM and 7 30 PM duel.

District Boy Scout Camporee Set for Nov 6-7

Delbert Davis announces the annual Boy Scout District Camporee to be held November 6 and 7 at Bud Adams Randall Lake Plantation. Events include knot tying compass course nature trail first aid and fire building competitions.

Food Fun Set For St Anthony Carnival

Games and food are planned for area citizens at the annual St Anthony Parent Teachers Club carnival from 5 30 to 8 30 p m Thursday October 28. Attractions include fish pond bingo cake walk and general store with hot dogs sandwiches kolaches pies coffee and tea.

Deadline Set for Rabies Vaccination of Cameron Dogs

Police Chief Elvin Hoskins urges Cameron residents to vaccinate dogs against rabies by November 6. Any veterinarian can vaccinate, or bring dogs to City Hall on November 6 for vaccination and licensing. Dr. Robert Titsworth will be at City Hall 8 am to 5 pm. Unlicensed dogs may be seized starting November 8 with potential destruction for unvaccinated animals.

Railroads in Milam County Pay $37 590 in Taxes

Milam County annual tax receipts from railroads total $37 590, announced by the Texas Railroad Association. The railroads paid nearly $1,000,000 statewide on right of way and property, with the largest share funding school systems. Other substantial distributions went to city village county governments and road and bridge funds.

Five Milam County road projects await approval in Austin

C B Thames district engineer of the Texas Highway Department says five Milam County highway projects totaling 1 024 await approval by the State Highway Commission in Austin. Through 1965 the department has spent 1 181 000 on Milam roads with 805 000 under construction.

Milam Polls Show Light Support For Amendments

Cameron community mobilizes for a Title 1 clothing drive supporting students in need. Seven Absentee Ballots Cast in Mi lam County Vote

Local turnout on Texas constitutional amendments remained light with only seven absentee ballots recorded by press time. County Clerk Wayne Wieser noted ballots could be cast at the courthouse through October 2, and all 38 county vote boxes would operate 7 am to 7 pm on Election Day. The ballot items include nine propositions detailing tax, funding, and governance changes across colleges, veterans programs, health care, government terms, and judicial retirement.

Milam Banks Post October Deposit Increases

Three area banks report higher deposits at the October 13 call led by Citizens National Bank of Cameron First National Bank Cameron and Buckholts State Bank with a combined rise of 2 213 212 45 over last year. Citizens National Bank Cameron totals 14 527 608 15 up 1 103 636 32 from 1964. First National Bank Cameron totals 7 166 990 85 up 936 393 29. Buckholts State Bank totals 1 234 884 20 up 25 192 84.

House Destroyed In Cameron Fire Friday

Fire destroyed a house at 911 West Yh Street Cameron occupied by Edgar Beavens. Fire caused by an overheated oil stove in the kitchen. The home owned by Mrs M H Jackson of Dallas. Cameron Fire Department also battled a grass fire eight miles south on the Milano highway about 5 pm Tuesday causing intensive damage to railroad ties stored on the property.

Rites Saturday for Paul Fuchs Forme Co School Trustee

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 30 p m for Paul Fuchs 88 in Hope Lutheran Church Buckholts officiating Rev G Moehring. Burial was in Hope Lutheran Cemetery He died Thursday at Kings Daughters Hospital Temple born Oct 20 1880 in Burton Washington County he farmed Buckholts 59 years His wife preceded him in death last April He served as director of the Buckholts State Bank and was a Milam County School Trustee from May 190 until retirement in April 1965 He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church Survivors include one son Harold Fuchs of Rogers three daughters Mrs Carl Von Goten Destin Schiller and Mrs Barrett all of Milam County five brothers A G Burton T Giddings John Edward Burton Robert of Brenham five grandchildren Pallbearers were Alvin Fuchs Franklin John Will Fuchs Robert Mann and Vernon Dungan</S>
