Milam County Boy Becomes KIA in France

The casualty report lists Harry Weakley Beavers as killed in action on the French front. He was the son of the late Joe Ed Beavers and his widow mother lives near Milano. Beavers married last November to Miss Apacha Summons and was called to service soon after. A brother of Beavers was killed in Los Angeles when the Times building was dynamited years ago.

Death of Everett D. Phillips in Dallas and Cameron services

Everett D. Phillips died in Dallas last Sunday after noon from influenza. His remains were shipped to Cameron where services were held at his aunt Mrs. Jennie Smith’s residence on Monday, with interment in Oakhill Cemetery conducted by Rev. B. B. Blaylock. He was 35, a former Cameron resident, and a prominent Hella Shrine member. Attending from out of town were Mrs. Claypool and her son Frank, R. Phillips, Marlin, J. W. Ellis and wife and son Cleve.

Jim Dobbs died at his Yarrellton home last Saturday after an influenza illness. He leaves a wife and several children. The funeral was held Sunday and burial followed at North Elm Cemetery.
