City Health Officer J G Townsend ordered Cameron to close non essential businesses including confectioneries and pool halls to curb influenza. Churches and public schools shut, barbers told to wear masks, over 200 cases with several pneumonia and three deaths. Officials urged households to avoid crowds and follow Texas health guidelines.
Milam County Community Councils of Defense are urged to mobilize in a wartime drive for seed and pit materials. The Gas Division of the Chemical Warfare Service requires carbon from peach stones apricot pits prune pits olive pits date seeds plum pits Brazil nut shells and shells of hickory walnuts and butter nuts. Even aged but non decayed materials may be used and no effort is needed to retain whole nuts.
Milam County Council of Defense urges communities to gather kernel leftovers for mask making aided by the American Red Cross. It notes 1500 Milam boys in France and calls Cameron or Rockdale as convenient send sites. Also highlights local store owner J P Werner disinfecting his shop to curb Spanish influenza spread.

The club also outlined requirements for Free Delivery routes including street numbers house numbers mail receptacles and readable signs on corners with city council action to place street signs before January 1.
Victim Leo Carothers dies at 6:55 AM following pneumonia caused by Spanish influenza in Houston. His brother W J Carothers hosts his burial at 2 PM Monday after a long residency with Stewart Abstract and Title Co. Mrs J L Clinton and Mrs A J Carothers travel to be with him.
Mrs Bernice Barkley Whitley formerly of Temple died in New Orleans last Sunday due to Spanish Influenza. She had moved there with her husband three weeks earlier. Remains shipped to Temple for interment on Tuesday. Attendees from Cameron included Miss Aetna Smith and several local relatives.
