Trick or Treat Party Planned For Youth Across Churches
The Christian Rural Overseas Program stages a Halloween event for youths 12 and up at the Presbyterian Church 7 p m Saturday October 36. Children will receive identification while collecting donations for CROP, with the government matching every dollar donated with twenty dollars of food for disaster areas abroad. Residents are asked to keep porch lights on 7 to 8 pm to welcome costumed trick or treaters and support CROP. A CROP stickered milk carton will mark helpers.

John A. Smith Jr. was reelected president at the Milam County Farm Bureau convention in the Simon George Memorial Hall on October 21. He previously served as first vice president since 1952 and led a strong membership drive. Other officers included Jungmann as first vice president and Bailey as second vice president. Miss Lenora A. Three Criminal Cases Sentenced By Judge Graham
Judge O D Graham sentenced three defendants after guilty pleas this Friday. Jim Hart, first time offender for robbery in Rockdale, drew five years suspended. Wilbur Morgan Jr received two years for burglary of Dinks Second Hand store in Cameron. Jewel Clinton Banks, with prior sentences, pled guilty to robbery and got five years in the penitentiary.

Mrs. Mary Luskac Dies in Oklahoma Rites Set
Mrs. Mary Luskac died Monday morning October 25 at McAlister Oklahoma. Born December 8 1867 in Czechoslovakia she came to the United States about 50 years ago. Survivors include her husband Frank Luskac Cyraly Luskac of Galveston four daughters and many grandchildren. Funeral services scheduled see Luskac page 10.

Pagel Wins Suit Over Cotton Picker Purchase
Ed O Pagel wins in the Third Court of Civil Appeals sustaining a district court verdict entitling him to recover 4000 of 5000 dollars paid for a mechanical cotton picker from Bryan Tractor and Implement Company. Pagel bought in 1951 under a conditional sales contract stating no warranties unless endorsed in writing.
