Sterling, Mad Over Defeat Bolts Governor Nomination
Austin, Oct 9 Gov R S Sterling who lost his court fight for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination said he would not vote for Miriam Ferguson in the general election. He warned a Ferguson win would place control with her husband James E Ferguson. He cited fraud charges and vowed to support Franklin D Roosevelt while stressing party unity would be harmed by Ferguson dominance. Sterling defended past actions and argued the law should allow a remedy if a nominating process is tainted.
