Gause Merchant J Ely Succumbs After Heart Attack

Jordan Alexander Ely Jr. a Gause grocery and market operator for 25 years and Navy veteran, died October 4 after a heart attack. San Gabriel Baptist Church wins 1967 development honor

San Gabriel Baptist Church in San Gabriel is named a winner in the 1967 Texas Baptist Church Development Program in Category I for churches with 101 to 200 members. Pastor Rev. Melvin D. Man Recuperates From Gun Wound After Early Morning Incident

Melvin Halpain of Cameron was shot in the left side in front of 1303 N College at 12 45 a m Saturday. He was in improved condition after emergency surgery at St Edward Hospital. Sheriff Carl Black filed assault with intent to commit. Bobby Loftin of Cameron was charged and released on $2000 bond.
