Hearing Outlined By Bryan Russ

Robertson County district attorney Bryan Russ outlined a six week grand jury probe into Henry Marshall's death. He said 135 witnesses, including Billy Sol Estes, were questioned amid a carnival atmosphere. The FBI called the death self inflicted and no gunshot traces were found on roads to the Marshall farm.

Ideal Hatchers Wins Second in State Test

Cameron's Ideal Hatchery and Poultry Farm posted the second highest average in three year Missouri Random Sample Laying Test and held the top average chick income in five year Missouri Random Sample programming. The H-3-W entry finished second behind a Webster Kentucky hatchery, with income over feed costs determining places and the Ideal result at 2873 dollars, about five cents behind the Kentucky entry.

Caldwell Leaders Outline Eight Year Community Comeback

Caldwell a town of 2,000 outlines a growth plan begun after an industrial visit eight years ago. The program created a $100,000 industrial foundation funding a 100 acre site and a 40,000 square foot building, plus an air strip and new hospital with a rest home planned. It spurred 10 new businesses, a revived motel restaurant Surrey, street paving, and a $40,000 pool to inaugurate recreation.

Funeral services for Mrs Donna Barrett 77 of Milam County are set for Thursday at 3 p m at Green Funeral Chapel with Rev Kenneth Haley of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. She was born August 10 1885 in Yarreiton and lived in Milam County most of her life. Survived by daughter and son in law Mrs Ray Westbrook.

Cameron Firemen Answer Two Alarms This Week

Firemen answered two fires in Cameron this week per Frank Richter. A truck two miles west of Buckholts burned and was a total loss before crews arrived. steel pipes aboard were not destroyed. The second fire occurred at 10 20 a m Saturday at the Kahler residence causing smoke damage.

Milam County Agriculture Sees Strong Fall Planting Ahead

Milam County reports one of the best grain crops in history and a cotton haul 95 percent harvested. 15 500 bales of Milam cotton and 6 500 bales of out of county cotton, with fall cover crops being planted and early fertilizer distribution aided by good ground moisture. Stocker demand is high for cattle producers as army worms are not a major issue and grazing restrictions shift with the 1962 feed grain program.
