Fire Prevention Week Poster and Theme Winners Named

Cameron Schools announced winners from St. Anthony's Ada Henderson and Yoe High in poster and theme contests. St. Anthony's first place recipients included Rebecca Marek and others. Ada Henderson winners covered grades four to eight with multiple first place honorees. Yoe High named Tom Moody and Danny Thweatt as poster winners and Sherri Clare and Merlin Lester as theme winners. Ben Milam students did not participate this year.

Tri-City Rotary Meet to Welcome Guests from Hearne and Rockdale

About 120 Rotarians and spouses are due for Cameron’s first inter city Rotary meeting tonight at First Methodist Fellowship Hall 7 30 p m October 18. Cayce Moore Hearne humorist will deliver a humorous talk. Guests include Rotary Gov and Mrs Jim Simpson and 75 visiting Rotarians and wives from Rockdale and Hearne. Moore formerly barber turned nationally known speaker now based in Hearne.

Cameron operates three sites Sunday noon to 5 pm at Yee High School Gymnasium Simon-George Hall and O J Thomas Gym. Registration at each center. City Council Hires Auditor and Routes Light Requests

The council approved hiring A. G. Uplegger and Company of Waco for the annual audit. Citizens' request for street lights was denied. The State Highway Department requested changing the 4th and Travis stop light to conform with regulations, but no action was taken.
