Clarkson J A Blassenz Club Spares Halloween Carnival
Mrs J A Blassenz Clarkson H D Club met Oct 4 with Mrs Joe Hauk as hostess and Mrs George Dodd as president. The club voted to sponsor a Halloween Carnival at the school on Tuesday night Oct 30. Mrs Alice Hughes introduced guest speaker Mrs R O Curry who reported on the THDA State Convention at A M College Aug 29 31. The program covered curtains drapes slip covers and chair covers. Guests included Mrs R O Curry and Mrs Mamie Caldwell and Mrs C E Richardson and Mrs C C Story. The next meeting will be Oct 18 with Mrs Emil Skupin.

The project follows negotiations with Altech and Texas Power and Light after Defense Production Administration certificates. The plant near Sandow lignite fields aims for partial 1962 operation and full output by 1953 at about 85 000 tons annually, employing around 1 000 people.
