Cavalry Unit Authorized at A and M College
President Bizzell announced that the war department has authorized a cavalry unit for the A and M College. Adjutant General Harris sent the telegram confirming the approval, joining the college’s existing infantry field artillery and signal corps units. The program will cost about $50,000 and bring roughly 100 horses to the campus after barns are prepared. The college may boast more ROTC units than any other U.S. school, reflecting its military standing.
