Miss Leila Wooley completed Milam county 1919 tax rolls and submitted them to the Commissioners Court. The assessor’s report sets Milam’s 1919 property valuation at eighteen and a half million dollars with a total tax rate of 1.38 per 100 dollars, plus additional school and road district levies.

State Health Survey Underway in Cameron
Dr. R. L. Howell of the State Health Department is conducting an indexical health survey in Cameron. He has nearly finished examining school children despite heavy rains and will begin a house to house survey with an engineer when possible. He urged a statewide cleanup campaign after rains to prevent an influenza epidemic and other illnesses.
