Auditors tally 12.4 million in state taxes owed
Texas Comptroller Bob Bullock said field audits during September and October added 12.4 million in taxes owed to the state, with 66.8 million found in fiscal 1976. The sales and use tax audits led the way with 7.3 million, while local sales taxes added 1.6 million and gas taxes 1.3 million. Refunds of 581,000 were issued for overpayments.
