Christmas Parade Set to Highlight Cameron Holiday Kickoff

Several more entries have signed up for Cameron's Saturday Christmas parade, a colorful season kickoff. The 10 a.m. march starts at Main and Crockett and features two color guards from Bergstrom Air Force Base and Cameron National Guard, including Air Force Reserve Airmen Cheryl Ann Dimuccio and Shelly Ann Baxter bearing flags.

Community Resource Group Sets Meeting in Cameron

The Milam County Community Resource Development Committee meets Monday December 6 at 2 p.m. in the First National Bank conference room Cameron. Texas A&M extension specialist John Henry will present. Temple man faces robbery charges after Milam Motel heist

Marion Campbell Jr., 24, of Temple, was identified as the suspect in the Milam Motel robbery on July 15. A $20,000 bond was set on the initial robbery charge. Campbell was arrested near Cameron after an attempted Hearne motel robbery and later positively identified in Bryan County. Additional charges of robbery will be filed by the county attorney.

New Cotton Oil Mill Planned At Thorndale

Temple Social Security Office Moves to New Downtown Site

The Temple Social Security Administration office will close at noon Friday December 3 to load and move. On Monday December 6 the office opens at 9 a.m. in the W. R. Poage Federal Building. The existing office at 3920 South General Bruce Drive will be closed after the move. The phone number remains 778-1861.

Salvation Army aids Cameron and region through United Way drive

The Salvation Army Cameron service unit reports 78 people aided from October to September and 52 locals plus 26 transients helped this summer. Local support totals 269.68 with 2,400 from United Fund split between local services and statewide relief. Programs include furniture replacement, groceries, lodging, and medical aid, with state support for larger disasters and missing person cases.
