Rites Thursday for H B McClellen

Funeral services for H B McClellen 70 will be held Thursday at 10 am at First Baptist Church in Cameron. He died suddenly at St Edwards Hospital after a heart attack. Born near Milano he was Milam County tax assessor and veterans service officer. Survived by wife Gladys, son Brice, daughter Mary Kolter, two brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.

Legislators Tour Screwworm Plant in Mission

A large Texas legislative group including Milton Schiller toured the Sterile Screwworm Fly Production Plant at Mission last Saturday. About 80 state representatives, 15 senators, and several Congressmen joined Gov elect John Connally and Lt Gov elect Preston Smith. They viewed breeding, cobalt radiation sterilization, and release plans under USDA direction.

Funeral services for Mrs Florence Spiegel 78 were held at Marek Burns Funeral Home with Dr Fredrick F Brooks of Austin officiating and burial in Sharp Cemetery. A Herald correspondent for Sharp and Tracy news she taught school 40 years and died in Temple Hospital. Survived by a stepson, two stepdaughters, three brothers and three sisters. Richards returns home after Viet Nam rescue of air crew

Penitentiary Sentences Settled In Milam Burglary Case

Three men received penitentiary terms in Huntsville after guilty pleas in Milam District Court for the Thorndale liquor store burglary. Robert Otha Hill and Arthur Williams drew ten years, Wilbert Barrs five years, while Martin S. Rios Jr. got two years probation for the August 16 1961 burglary. C C Bolton pleaded guilty to swindling by worthless check and drew three years. Judge W C Wallace announced sentencing last week.

Fuller to Understudy City Secretary Andres

Mayor Coleman Duncum announced Buddy Fuller of Cameron will start December 1 as understudy to City Secretary John C. Andres. Andres stays until January 1 when Fuller becomes fulltime. Fuller has Cameron roots and prior work at Markham's Cleaners and Texaco. He was chosen from five applicants.

Graveside Rites For J. F. Patzke

Funeral services for J. F. Patzke were held at the First Methodist Church in Calvert with burial in String Prairie Cemetery near Cameron. Patzke, 75, a retired telegraph operator and former Milam County resident, lived in Conroe for many years and is survived by a sister, Mrs. S. A. Easley of Cameron, and brothers Otto Amil and Fritz Patzke of String Prairie.
