Lamar Storey Diagnosed with Non-Paralytic Poliomyelitis

Lamar Storey of Milano is hospitalized at Crippled Children's Hospital in Waco with a non-paralytic polio case. Dr. John Bryson of the Milan County Health Unit said the illness began last Tuesday and no condition update was available. This marks the sixth polio case in Milam County this year. Mrs. H M Ashcraft of Rogers visited her niece Mrs. Dock Thweatt last week, with Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Floyd and children also visiting.

National Guard to Take Part in Veterans Day Program

National Guard members will join the Veterans Day program by the American Legion at Simon George Hall on Thursday November 11. From 10 30 a m to 1 p m the Guard under Battery Commander James Terry will display equipment on the grounds for public examination. Mrs. C H Slone died in a Sherman hospital Monday morning after a 25 year teaching career in Buckholts area and move to Sherman last year. Milam County Votes On Amendments In General Election

Milam County tabulation of voting in the general election shows most amendments defeated with narrow margins for several measures. Amendments 7 6 37 10 5 14 and 16 carried or failed with varying results. amendment 4 and SJR 16 faced defeat. A full Democrat slate was elected with no write ins. Branchville box had fewer than 10 ballots.

Ira Bud Cone 78 died at his home in Milam County Thursday morning. Funeral Friday at 2 p m at Greens Funeral Chapel with A M Matar officiating. Interment Marlow Cemetery. Survivors include wife, daughter, son, four sisters, three brothers, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also notes a local birth in Burlington of James Patrick weighing eight pounds five ounces born October 26.

School Queen Race Draws Near Close
