Repair Facility Grows In Israel
A government-backed Israeli repair and maintenance plant, Israel Aerospace Industries, has grown into a multi million dollar concern over 20 years. It overhauls aircraft frames and engines up to Boeing 747 and fighter bombers, repairs 50 000 aircraft accessories and 5 000 systems, and has begun producing a sea-to-sea missile and a helicopter night formation lighting system. 80 percent of its work is defense related and secrecy is tightly maintained.
