Cameron High School to Hold 1917 18 Graduation Exercises
The Cameron High School graduating class of 1917-18 will hold commencement at 8:30 p.m. Friday May 24 in the school auditorium. Valedictorian Miss Jessica Lowenstein salutatorian Mary Yee class orator Fontaine Flinn and essayist Isla Dean Harris are named. Dr Fredrick Eby of the State University will address the gathering. diplomas presented by Dr R S Epperson. scholarships awarded by Superintendent J E Watts. The 45 graduates include Emily Atkins Anna Baskin Minnie Blaylock Sallie Bickett Cora Dockery Louise Epperson Isla Harris Jessica Lowenstein Mary Yee Fontaine Flinn and others.

Cameron City Council Holds Regular Meeting
The Cameron City Council met at city hall with most members present. They discussed Oakhill Cemetery debt and planned a future meeting with the Cemetery Association. Hugo Slaughter was tasked to summon nonpaying street taxes and collect from tax payers, or have them work under the street commissioner. The salary for street department employee J E Thomas was raised from 1.50 to 2.60 per day.

Baccalaureate Sermon For Cameron High Class 1917 18
Rev C B Williams of Fort Worth Theology Seminary delivered the baccalaureate for Cameron High School. The address titled The Worth of a Man was described as forceful and timely. The graduates wore cap and gown and sat in a ribbon tied gray and pink section. The program included invocation solo and chorus scripture reading offering sextette and benediction.
