Five Month Old Duroc Jersey Pig Sells For Thirty Five Dollars

E A Barmore of Milam county visits from Maysfield to fill an order for a five months old Duroc Jersey pig destined for Ruby Wilkins in Detroit Texas. The animal reportedly cost thirty five dollars, described as a fine pig and easier to raise than a three dollar razor back.

Centenary Drive A Success Fuels Cameron Efforts

The Centenary drive at the Southern Methodist church in Cameron opened Sunday morning and is deemed a success. Prof. L. H. Kidd leads the Cameron effort with active outreach this week. Cameron church reports being over the top, and Marlin District earns 100 percent for the Sunday School feature. Mr. Harbin receives congratulations from R. M. Kelly of Longview and Nashville Missionary Secretary.

Cameron Public Schools enter final week as the 1919 senior class of twenty nine graduates receives diplomas. The program includes a May 23 operetta Miss Cherry Blossom, May 25 commencement at the Methodist church with Rev W R Hall, and a grammar school graduation May 26. An Alumni Association will be formed and a senior class roster lists twenty nine names.

Potatoes Curings Plant Assured for Cameron City

A stock company formed with 15 000 capital plans a 20 000 bushel Wells system potato curing plant in Cameron. Incorporators are B. P. Atkinson Oxheer Smith Robi McLane and Chas Terry with location near the jail and Santa Fe yards. The Herald will publish full details next week.

Blaylock Returns From Southern Baptist Convention

Rev. B B Blaylock returned Tuesday from Atlanta where he attended the Southern Baptist Convention. He says it was the greatest meeting he ever attended with a spirit of opportunity and a keynote urging Baptists to do their part. A 75,000,000 badge for the next five years was planned.

Laura Scott Opens Murdock Hotel in Cameron

Mrs Laura Scott recently moved from Merkel Texas to Cameron and opened the Murdock Hotel across from Jeter Lumber Company. Her daughter Miss Lois Balch has accepted a stenographer position with Wm Rogers.

Cameron Public Schools Reflect on Splendid Year

The tenth and eleventh grades will plan next year on Friday morning with Friday work assignments. Pupils will not report after Tuesday noon. New superintendent Mr Kidd expanded the curriculum and secured state college affiliations. The high school library gained a strong collection of readers and reference books. Athletics, led by Mr Crawford, boosted with an undefeated baseball team and the Cam Hi Orchestra.

Cameron Commercial Club Holds May 16 1919 Meeting

Cameron Commercial Club directors gathered May 16 1919 with Robt McLane as president Geo Graves treasurer and T N Herring secretary among attendees. They discussed mail service improvements park entrance gate designs band funding facility rental and a potential long term lease for the old Law Sprinker building as a home for club activities and a practice space for a proposed 40 piece brass band.
