Miss Cherry Blossom high school operetta wows audience
The high school presented Miss Cherry Blossom last Friday directed by Misses Brougher Nowlin and Goddard. The Japanese themed performance featured O Hara San Owen Bacon as heroine with a chorus of about twenty girls, ornate costumes, and dances by Japanese Geishas Butterflies and Poppy Maids.

Band and club plan instruments purchase after meeting
The Commercial Club is urged to help the new band buy instruments rather than provide a meeting place. A report was unanimously adopted and other city matters were discussed, including speakers stand, bank sidewalk removal, and Chautauqua timing. A sweet potato curing plant project was approved pending a site visit.

Missionary Society District Meeting in Marlin
Women of the Methodist Missionary Society of the Marlin District held an all day meeting in our city with many out of town guests. Mrs C D Lay presided as delegates discussed reports and plans while junior girls presented a pageant on Democracy Christianity and Columbia and Miss Maggie Rogers spoke on work in Soo Chow China.

Yoe High School Plans Ordered for Cameron Memorial
Trustees of the Yoe memorial fund let a 100000 dollar contract to Page Brothers of Houston and Austin for Cameron high school. The building, to be a memorial donated by Mrs. C. H. Yoe and her family, will provide domestic economy, manual training, science, a girls gymnasium, and a landscaped campus with park area. It is slated for occupancy at the start of the 1920 fall term.

Graduation of Grammar Grades at Local School
Last Monday evening the seventh grade pupils and instructors held a graduation style program. Forty three of fifty began the grammar course and received certificates. Speakers included Pauline Green salutatory, Olive Henderson class history, Bassett Watson class orator, Harleigh McGregor class prophecy, Martha Lu Hooks robe presentation, Alice Lucille Garrison valedictorian with Power of Music, and Honorable T. The sixth Cameron Chautauqua opened Tuesday afternoon under auspicious circumstances led by Prof J N Crawford and Supt H A Shinn. The program featured Miss Electra Place and the Victory Players, Ralph Parlette, the Rt Claire Sisters, and Lincoln McConnell with lectures and music. Organizers urged community cooperation for a week of high culture and entertainment.

Baccalaureate Sermon for Cameron High School Graduates
The Cameron High School commencement sermon was given at the Methodist church last Sunday May 25. The service featured the junior class music by Miss Brougher Miss Goddard and the Cam Hi Orchestra. Rev W G Harbin and Rev W R Hall delivered prayers scripture and a personal sermon urging graduates to build a life with Christ as their Pilot.
